The purpose of this meet up group is to support Spoken Word/Poetry in Washington, DC. Come out and listen or come share your work! There are several venues in the "U" Street area that host "Open Mic" each week. We will Honor Gil Scott Heron, by hosting this Annual Poetry Festival. We are a fun and supportive group of writers living in and around Northern Virginia. All skill levels and all types of writing are represented: novels, poetry, lyrics, short stories, non-fiction, children's stories, and more!
